It is possible to travel to the cottage from anywhere in the UK within a day. There are cheap flights available to Glasgow airport from many of the UK regional airports. The main ferry port to Mull at Oban is only approximately two hours drive by car from Glasgow. Alternatively, there are regular bus connections between Glasgow airport and Glasgow Queen Street railway station from where trains to Oban depart 3 or 4 times a day. The train journey takes approximately three hours with the Oban station situated immediately adjacent to the ferry port. Immediately below is a link to the relevant page of the Argyll & Bute Council web site which provides access to timetables for the relevant local trains, ferries and buses. http://www.argyll-bute.gov.uk/aboutargyll/gettingabout/ Further information about travelling to Glenfuran follows. |

| The main ferry to the Isle of Mull sails from Oban to Craignure and takes just 45 minutes to reach its destination. It is essential that a car space is booked on this ferry well in advance during the summer months and for crossings taken on or close to Bank Holidays. Please also remember that even if you have booked a car place on the ferry you still are required to turn up at the ferry port an absolute minimum of 30 minutes before the ferry is due to sail otherwise you will lose the booking. Thereafter, the journey from Craignure to Tobermory takes just over 30 minutes by road. |

| Visitors, particularly those from Northern Scotland, may prefer the two alternative crossing from the mainland to Mull on the Lochaline-Fishnish and Kilchoan-Tobermory ferries. These are turn up and go crossings which take fifteen minutes and thirty-five minutes respectively to complete. Please note that there are no Sunday crossings on either of these ferries and that you need to turn up at the ferry port a minimum of 10 minutes before the ferry is due to sail. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
